thanks.

the problem is then with bari redir:

-bash-4.1$ xrdmapc --list s xrootd.ba.infn.it:1094|wc
     61     122    2228
-bash-4.1$ xrdmapc --list m xrootd.ba.infn.it:1094|wc
      5      14     173

61+5-2 = 64  ... this really seems a suspicious number

we KNOW we could not force everyone NOT to use ONLY Bari, so Bari is expected to be higher.

I was not suspecting THAT higher.

now a question: supposing it is @ 64 since it is the max, should I see on cmsd.log any message about refusing further connections?

Hi Tom,

one way could possibly be run xrdmapc against given redirector and count the lines... Thouhg, not sure if this is something one can trust, but we use it to determine who is in production federation...

So, you might try this:

Count # of servers subscribed:
xrdmapc --list s xrootd-redic.pi.infn.it:1094 | wc -l
38

Count # of managers subscribed:
xrdmapc --list m xrootd-redic.pi.infn.it:1094 | wc -l
7

And subtract 2 which is just header line of the each output. So you are about 43 subscribers to xrootd-redic.pi.infn.it.

Does that help?

Ciao, which is the best way to know "how close" we are to the 64 servers
limit.
is there a way we can "ask" directly the cmsd?

thanks
