Hello Luca,
 By disabling the SvtAlignmentConstants you are, in effect, creating a new geometry.
The Monte Carlo SimTrackerHits are now no longer within the active silicon volume,
so digitization fails.
 If you meant to do this (e.g. for alignment studies) I would suggest that you first
run the digitization without changing the geometry and then proceed from there
in a separate reco/analysis step.

I'm trying to run readout simulation on some events I've generated, but I get this error:

Events have been generated by my event generator, passed through slic using Nominal-v3-fieldmap detector.
