FileStatusHandler destroys it in the destructor, what might remain is the ResponseHandlerHolder which will be just an empty shell. FileStateHandler, in turn, is being destroyed in File destructor, now the question is: should / can those two lines be reversed:
if ( DefaultEnv::GetLog() && IsOpen() ) {XRootDStatus status = Close();}
delete pStateHandler;
