Hi Victor,

There is no documentation on doing this because this is a rarely done 
event. However, I would say a) install xrootd on the server you want to 
move to but don't start it, b) copy the files to the new server, c) 
start xrootd/cmsd on the new server, d) kill the old server. Within 10 
minutes (the default) clients should start using the new server.
