put a space between the D and the outputFile=out .   That seems to fix things.  (although Jeremy said that he's fixed that bug last night so that it doesn't matter if you use the space or not, if you use the latest version from svn)

When using

and a very standard java command:

/usr/bin/time /apps/scicomp/java/jdk1.7/bin/java -DdisableSvtAlignmentConstants -XX:+UseSerialGC -Xmx500m -jar ${hps-java} -r /org/hps/steering/readout/${steering} -i in.slcio -DoutputFile=out -Ddetector=${detector} -Drun=5772

This strange error happens:

"org.apache.commons.cli.UnrecognizedOptionException: Unrecognized option: -DoutputFile=out"

The same thing appears to be happening with the new pass6 jobs that I see failing on the farm.

Is this tied to a known problem that prompted the latest release, or something else?
