Hi,
Sadly no change if I use TFile::Open, it still gives the segmentation violation.

I wasn't so sure, so I recompiled both from source ( root with --with-xrootd=new_xrootd_installdir,configure confirmed this), still the problem persists.

I might try to step through with gdb , or should i try different versions?
