Hi FACET&Test Facilities-users

This email is for people that use SLAC computing accounts for:
Cisco AnyConnect (aka VPN)
Outlook Webmail
Citrix remote access

SLAC Computing is introducing two-step authentication for these services.

Enrollment is open now and needs to be done by 30th April as after this date, you will not be able to use these services unless you are enrolled.

Note that at this time, ssh is not affected so you can still ssh through to SLAC remotely with the usual unix username and password. This also doesn't currently affect logging in to SLAC desktops/laptops on-site. It can be expected that two-step authentication will be deployed to more systems eventually but at this time, it is just VPN, webmail and citrix.

Visit the enrollment portal at http://twostep.slac.stanford.edu and click the green "Enroll in SLAC Duo" button. The portal will walk you through the setup process. There are links to FAQs and guides below the green button.

Note that I checked with Computing about a couple of things: This will work with international numbers for the SMS option and they are discussing policy for distributing security tokens to people off-site however currently you need to be at B050 in person to collect a token.

Cheers,
-Christine
