Michal and I looked over the changes. As you suggested, these cannot be pulled for a number of reasons but the intended changes are essentially correct. We have worked over the changes to address compiler portability and backward compatibility issues but git head should now compile cleanly except for XrdHttpReq.cc (another developer is working on that as the solution is rather messy). Could you give your compiler a go and see if we missed anything?
