Hello, I see an error in the Purdue xrootd logs that causes me some concern. After a scan of the logs I see it can occur up to 100k times a day. Here an example log entry from xrootd.log on our redirector: 170103 03:29:56 64059 Decode xrootd gave uscms407.30510:[log in to unmask] err -2 'Too many attempts to gain dfs read access to the file' /store/data/Run2016G/Charmonium/AOD/23Sep2016-v1/70000/8087EC19-1496-E611-B526-008CFA0008C4.root 170103 03:29:56 64161 uscms407.30510:[log in to unmask] XrootdResponse: sending err 3011: Too many attempts to gain dfs read access to the file I was thinking this could be related to the 'limit' option for cms.dfs configuration on the redirector, but we don't have that option set which from my understanding makes there be no limit. Here is the cms.dfs configuration line: cms.dfs lookup distrib mdhold 10m redirect immed I attached our whole configuration file as well. Any thoughts on what could be causing this error?
