Adding the IP/host to `/etc/hosts` fixes the "user authentication failed" error, but it doesn't seem feasible to add an entry for every host in the cluster. I've been told that the EOS folks also comment out the `::1` line in their /etc/hosts file - am doing that as well and still getting the error.

Let me know if any additional information is required, error is easy enough to reproduce.
