We observe "stalling client for N sec" when copying data files with xrdcp v4.8.3-rc1 (also happens with 4.8.2) It only happens when the file is copied for the first time or a large timeout is in between copying again. Recopying after a few seconds, no stalling occurs. The stalling can be 10sec or multiple of 10sec sometimes. No pattern to be recognized. We do use xrootd only on a local net. So no firewalling or remote access delays in between. ```bash 180419 20:07:34 23318 XrdSched: running main accept inq=0 180419 20:07:34 23239 XrdInet: Accepted connection from 20@TARGET 180419 20:07:34 23239 XrdProtocol: matched protocol xrootd 180419 20:07:34 23239 ?:20@TARGET XrdPoll: FD 20 attached to poller 0; num=1 180419 20:07:34 23239 ?:20@TARGET XrootdProtocol: 0000 req=login dlen=108 180419 20:07:34 23239 schroete.174173:20@TARGET XrootdResponse: 0000 sending 16 data bytes 180419 20:07:35 23239 XrootdXeq: schroete.174173:20@TARGET pvt IPv4 login 180419 20:07:35 23239 schroete.174173:20@TARGET XrootdProtocol: 0100 req=stat dlen=17 180419 20:07:35 23239 schroete.174173:20@TARGET ofs_stat: fn=/xrootd/schroete/ 180419 20:07:35 23247 Receive glogin1 19 bytes on 3071 180419 20:07:35 23247 Decode glogin1 redirects schroete.174173:20@TARGET to 192.168.16.122:1094 /xrootd/schroete/ 180419 20:07:35 23239 schroete.174173:20@TARGET XrootdProtocol: 0100 rc=-256 stat /xrootd/schroete/ 180419 20:07:35 23239 schroete.174173:20@TARGET XrootdProtocol: 0100 redirecting to 192.168.16.122:1094 180419 20:07:35 23239 schroete.174173:20@TARGET XrootdResponse: 0100 sending 18 data bytes; status=4004 180419 20:07:35 23239 schroete.174173:20@TARGET XrootdProtocol: 0100 req=open dlen=51 180419 20:07:35 23239 schroete.174173:20@TARGET XrootdProtocol: 0100 open unmat /xrootd/schroete//FILE?oss.asize=12353536 180419 20:07:35 23239 schroete.174173:20@TARGET ofs_open: 102-40644 fn=/xrootd/schroete/FILE 180419 20:07:35 23247 Receive glogin1 4 bytes on 4095 180419 20:07:35 23247 Decode glogin1 delays schroete.174173:20@TARGET 5 /xrootd/schroete/FILE ==> 180419 20:07:35 23239 schroete.174173:20@TARGET XrootdProtocol: 0100 stalling client for 5 sec** 180419 20:07:35 23239 schroete.174173:20@TARGET XrootdResponse: 0100 sending 4 data bytes; status=4005 180419 20:07:35 23239 schroete.174173:20@TARGET ofs_close: use=0 fn=dummy 180419 20:07:40 23239 schroete.174173:20@TARGET XrootdProtocol: 0100 request timeout; read 0 of 24 bytes 180419 20:07:40 23239 XrdPoll: Poller 0 enabled schroete.174173:20@TARGET 180419 20:07:40 23240 XrdSched: running schroete.174173:20@TARGET inq=0 180419 20:07:40 23240 schroete.174173:20@TARGET XrootdProtocol: 0100 req=open dlen=51 180419 20:07:40 23240 schroete.174173:20@TARGET XrootdProtocol: 0100 open unmat /xrootd/schroete//FILE?oss.asize=12353536 180419 20:07:40 23240 schroete.174173:20@TARGET ofs_open: 102-40644 fn=/xrootd/schroete/FILE 180419 20:07:40 23247 Receive glogin1 19 bytes on 5119 180419 20:07:40 23247 Decode glogin1 redirects schroete.174173:20@TARGET to 192.168.16.122:1094 /xrootd/schroete/FILE 180419 20:07:40 23240 schroete.174173:20@TARGET XrootdProtocol: 0100 redirecting to 192.168.16.122:1094 180419 20:07:40 23240 schroete.174173:20@TARGET XrootdResponse: 0100 sending 18 data bytes; status=4004 180419 20:07:40 23240 schroete.174173:20@TARGET ofs_close: use=0 fn=dummy ``` -- You are receiving this because you are subscribed to this thread.
