Nothing super obvious. I see several connections from SLAC. The log shows some aborted/interrupted connections from INFN. The server will block further connection attempts from a client after 50 failures (a limit set in the config). This value is fairly reasonable for an externally visible server. We pretty much disable this behavior (set a high limit) for on-site servers. I just did a flush hosts on the server (the external one) to reset this. Might be worth a retry.
Which account were you failing to connect with? And, to which server? Both? You may not be able to connect to hpsdb-ext from on-site… I don’t remember how that’s set up. I can check the logs for indications.
During normal ops, we leave logging turned off because it fills disks so quickly. I enabled detailed logging on the external server. So, if there are further problems, I may get more indication of what might be going wrong.
Anything up with hpsdb/hpsdb-ext?
Maybe unrelated, but I tried to do a mysql login with credentials that used to work, but no luck ...
