Do we know this?

In general, it looks like the buckets are handled as a linked list.  I don't see any code that would leak a bucket in the list if there's an unknown type.

I mean, it seems like we're solving this particular case with a protocol version change -- still, would be good to know if we can introduce new buckets without version changes.
