Hi Andy,

thanks for the clarifications!
With this in mind, I have looked further and found:
https://github.com/pkramp/RedirPlugin
which looks like it does exactly match your description (server-side CMS plugin).

From what I can grasp from the sources, it expects:
Redir.prefix /somepath/
in the configuration and then redirects the clients to a path on the local filesystem if both server and clients have private addresses
(although I don't really find that "private IP"-check in the source code...).

Is my interpretation correct? Then I would try to contact @pkramp on GitHub to get that upstreamed.

Cheers,
	Oliver

There is no speciific server-side plugin to do that, only the functionality is supported for redirection use based on configurable internal situations. The XrdOpenLocal_v2 is a client-side plugin and is no longer applicable as the client already supports "file://" type URL's. What is missing is a server-side plugin that can drive that functionality in a general context. We would gladly accept a plugin that could be generally used to drive this functionality. It's pretty simple to write and would likely front the cms clent plugin.
