Hi Andy, thanks for the clarifications! With this in mind, I have looked further and found: https://github.com/pkramp/RedirPlugin which looks like it does exactly match your description (server-side CMS plugin). From what I can grasp from the sources, it expects: Redir.prefix /somepath/ in the configuration and then redirects the clients to a path on the local filesystem if both server and clients have private addresses (although I don't really find that "private IP"-check in the source code...). Is my interpretation correct? Then I would try to contact @pkramp on GitHub to get that upstreamed. There is no speciific server-side plugin to do that, only the functionality is supported for redirection use based on configurable internal situations. The XrdOpenLocal_v2 is a client-side plugin and is no longer applicable as the client already supports "file://" type URL's. What is missing is a server-side plugin that can drive that functionality in a general context. We would gladly accept a plugin that could be generally used to drive this functionality. It's pretty simple to write and would likely front the cms clent plugin. > > Andy > > On Thu, 13 Jun 2019, Oliver Freyermuth wrote: > >> Dear XRootD experts, >> >> after reading through the slides for the XRootD client talk: >> https://indico.cern.ch/event/727208/contributions/3444599/attachments/1859886/3056268/xrdwrkshp_status.pdf >> I wonder whether the server component of "Redirection to local file" is also upstreamed already? >> I skimmed through the docs, but could not make it out. >> >> Or should one still use a server-side plugin such as https://github.com/pkramp/XrdOpenLocal_v2 , which however does not seem strongly maintained anymore and might break with XRootD 5.0 ? >> >> Cheers, >> Oliver >> >> >> ######################################################################## >> Use REPLY-ALL to reply to list >> >> To unsubscribe from the XROOTD-L list, click the following link: >> https://listserv.slac.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=XROOTD-L&A=1 >> > > ######################################################################## > Use REPLY-ALL to reply to list > > To unsubscribe from the XROOTD-L list, click the following link: > https://listserv.slac.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=XROOTD-L&A=1 ######################################################################## Use REPLY-ALL to reply to list To unsubscribe from the XROOTD-L list, click the following link: https://listserv.slac.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=XROOTD-L&A=1
