ciao Mario, i guess you are using the gfal2 transfer API in Rucio right ? ( the equivalent to gfal-copy) in gfal2, in the case of the transfer API for xrootd, we don't do much as we just use the xrootd client ( XrdCl::CopyProcess), so we don't touch file offsets. so we may want to investigate if there is a problem in XrdCl. Do you have the logs of the client?
