Hi George,

It's a problem that has to be fixed. The number means that the log gor 
rotated but a previous rotation already existed so the new file is 
qualified with a suffix. The problem stems from a change (stupid I must 
say) in Linux where the scheduled ntp corection occurs at midnight. Many 
times, the clock runs backwards just as log rotation occurs, so from 
xrootd's perspective, midnight may occur several times and you get 
multiple log rotated log files, each with usually a single line.
