Subject: Americas Workshop on Linear Colliders

Americas Workshop on Linear Colliders (AWLC2020)
June 22-25, 2020
SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory

Dear Colleagues,

Recent progress towards the start of final preparation for the International Linear Collider in Japan motivates renewed discussion on the interests and capabilities of institutions and individuals to contribute to the project. Additionally, the developing United States community planning process, Snowmass, calls for a coordinated discussion and articulation of the scientific significance of the ILC and the roles envisioned for American scientists. To address these developments we are planning a workshop at SLAC in June.

The workshop will also bring together interested scientists from the global community to discuss the plans for the transition phase toward final preparation and to formulate updated plans and actions. The agenda will cover the present status of the ILC project and the opportunities available for participation in accelerator R&D, detector R&D, and physics studies. It will be followed by related workshops in Europe (Fall 2020) and Asia (Spring 2021), following the traditional sequence.

This workshop follows the meeting of the Linear Collider Board (LCB) and ICFA at SLAC in February, where ICFA released a statement on the ILC project:
