Currently, there is no way to automatically do a checksum calculation unless a client ask for the checksum. That happens automatically for files copied in using xrdcp with the checksum option. Other clients would need to ask for the checksum opon closing the file. Could you provide one or two scenarios for "forcing a checksum"?
