Ah, I looked at the code and, yes, the opendir() does not redirect. I vaguely recall this was intentional given Babar's work flow. They would always do a stat() and then do an dirlist at that location. That workflow no longer exists so there is no reason to keep this behavior. I will fix this and it can be back ported to 4.12.0 (or earlier if there is a need for that).
