BTW you should make the test "SSL_get_verify_result(ssl) != X509_V_OK" to be sure that the cert you are using was actually verified. Normally, it doesn't matter as the vomsapi library will verify the cert but it won't be the case for the gridmap file. That one is pretty much free-wheeling.
