@osschar - is the syntax to enable the Debug or Dump level in the XrdCl this:

pss.setopt DebugLevel 3

?

Specifically, it sounds like there are two very distinct code paths (unwrap or pass through) that the cache may be taking. I'd be curious if one is particularly associated with an issue.

For example, if the "pass through" codepath is used then the change to the block size has no effect, potentially explaining what @rajanandakumar is seeing.
