As a possible long-term consideration: would it make sense to allow a redirection response to include some kind of token that the client should present on login?
Well, I don't think this would help us much, as xrootd client is reusing once opened connections. Even in case of xrdcp
we are issuing a kXR_stat
request ahead of using the CopyProcess
(the component that encapsulates the transfer logic), which opens a physical connection that is NOT TPC specific (and there's even more chance of a scenario like that in case of experiments' frameworks). Before my patch (9fb8851), the query checksum request was going through a connection that was opened before the TPC was carried out.
