Derek and I have looked at the multi0user plugin. It indeed sets the uid-gid before calling the checksum routine so that whole routine, including extended attribute processing runs with the preset uid-gid. So, as far as we can tell it should work just fine. So, could you provide log output and some reasonable debug level that captures it not working?
