@simonmichal unfortunately no joy .. see xrdzip_corrupt_data/try2
my app report correctly :

XRootD version: 20210401-3011213e3
XRootD path: /home/adrian/.local/lib/python3.9/site-packages/XRootD/client/__init__.py

the actual command line client xrdcp i cannot test as i'm not sure if i can correctly rebuild the srpm on fedora 33
do you spot in the xrdlog anything weird?
