Hi @abh3 ,
I've managed to check that the Xcache-related problem (mentioned in the previous post) is not specific to XrdCeph ( I can reproduce the issue without Ceph in the chain i.e. with a normal filesystem Xrootd server)

210906 14:02:54 956227 XrdPfc_File: error ProcessBlockResponse block 0x7f4e3c003320, idx=2, off=67108864 error=-33 /xrootd-test/test/jwalder/test_64MiBp1
210906 14:02:54 956226 XrdPfc_File: error Read() io 0x7f4e3c002290, block 2 finished with error 33 numerical argument out of domain /xrootd-test/test/jwalder/test_64MiBp1
210906 14:02:54 956226 XrdPfc_IO: warning Read() error in File::Read(), exit status=-33, error=numerical argument out of domain root:[log in to unmask]:1096//xrootd-test/test/jwalder/test_64MiBp1
210906 14:02:54 956226 ofs_read: orl67423.6553:[log in to unmask] Unable to read /root:/ceph-dev-gw1.gridpp.rl.ac.uk:1096/xrootd-test/test/jwalder/test_64MiBp1; numerical argument out of domain

This is something that seems to have appeared between 5.2.0 and 5.3.X and is unrelated to this specific issue.

I can now create the PR for the fix related to XrdCeph, and should create a new issue for the Xcache problem.

Thanks again for all the help.
James
