Hi Justas,

Lets check with gfal2 developers ;-)

Mihai: what are the flags you are using when issuing the dir list request with xroot?

Cheers,
Michal

Hi,

Here is setup details:
Redirector (xrootd-redir.ultralight.org) - redirector does not have visibility of FS.
Data Servers (transfer-[1-10].ultralight.org)

Redirector has this in config:
cms.dfs lookup distrib mdhold 20m redirect immed
Which should redirect calls to data server

Using xrdfs via redirector:
$ xrdfs xrootd-redir.ultralight.org ls /store/
/store/.swp
/store/admin
/store/backfill
/store/data
/store/express
/store/group
/store/hidata
/store/himc
/store/mc
/store/relval
/store/results
/store/temp
/store/test
/store/unmerged
/store/user

$ gfal-ls root://xrootd-redir.ultralight.org:1094//store/
gfal-ls error: 115 (Operation now in progress) - Failed reading directory: [ERROR] Error response: No such file or directory (Unknown error 400)
 gfal-ls davs://xrootd-redir.ultralight.org:1094//store/
himc
express
hidata
unmerged
temp
backfill
relval
group
results
user
mc
data
test
admin

I created dummy file on redirector and:
$ gfal-ls root://xrootd-redir.ultralight.org:1094//store/
dummy-file-on-redirector

Why `gfal-ls root://xrootd-redir.ultralight.org:1094//store/` does not redirect to data server to do lookup? Is this gfal-ls issue not specifying some of the flag? In such case - what needs to be specified so we get this fixed under gfal.

Thanks
