Congratulations on your retirement, it is very well-deserved.  I hope you will enjoy every day, and I hope you can come out to soccer often.  The Tuesday/Friday evening games aren’t so bad, as there is usually a second game of mostly post-docs and other younger, skilled guys who serve as an overflow for us.  So I hope you can come there soon.  And don’t forget the 2 pm game this Friday at Sand Hill!

 

It's been great playing with you for the past 25 years.  You have always been friendly, you never seem to get angry, and you have been a really great role model for guys like me who are more hot-tempered.  We must have played together nearly 1000 times and I can never remember you getting angry even once.  Thank you for that, and for your always-excellent play.  I remember that you were Dave Fryberger’s favorite teammate, and he always wanted you on his team because of your excellent skill.

 

 

 

Hello everyone, I’m very happy to announce my retirement on the 30^th of this month. So hopefully I’ll be healthy to play my last two Tuesdays. I’m going to miss all of you and playing the beautiful game. For the last forty years I’ve enjoyed working here and playing my favorite hobby. I’ve played with and met many wonderful people I’m blessed. I’m sadden I can’t continue to play once in a while because of this pandemic, but hopefully it will end soon and SLAC soccer will be open to outsiders/retirees. I had hoped to break David Frybergers record to play until 76, it’s not going to happen my body just takes to long to recover from all injuries. (maybe I can break the lineup at the afternoon games with Jeff sometimes, but they’re really strict on numbers) I hope SLAC soccer continues to thrive for many years to come. Remember to always recruit, you never know who will be so enthusiastic to send emails every day to promote the game. Hope the game stays open for everyone regardless of skill and age. Ha ha wink, wink. I plan to do some gardening, traveling and split my time living here and Mexico. Hope some of you stay in touch and visit me here or Mexico.
