more info: so this is the build log and i noticed this:

Installing collected packages: xrootd
  Attempting uninstall: xrootd
    Found existing installation: xrootd 5.4.1
ERROR: Cannot uninstall 'xrootd'. It is a distutils installed project and thus we cannot accurately determine which files belong to it which would lead to only a partial uninstall.

which is wrong as this should not see the system (or user side) installation ..
