I've been playing with cms.fxhold and cms.delay, but to no avail.

You do want to make sure you have negative existence caching disabled as updating that cache is relatively race-prone.
I've searched the documentation, but could not find how.

So, is the stat issued by the client doing the rename or by some parallel client
Same client, 5s after the rename.

a) How can I do that?
b) 5 seconds after rename
c) I would have to check manually - will write a quick test
