Dear XRootD devs, Well there was a mix of XRootD packages coming from the official XRootD repository and from the EPEL one. I therefore reinstalled packages xrootd, xrootd-client and xrootd-client-libs in order to have all the packages coming from the *same* repository. Now gfal-sum returns the adler32 checksum :) Thanks to Simon who investigated and pointed out the problem.
