Working on CMS Rucio consistency enforcement, I noticed strange behavior of "xrdfs ls" command:
# xrdfs ruhex-osgce.rutgers.edu ls -l -R /store/mc/RunIIFall17NanoAODv7/BprimeBprime_M-1900_TuneCP5_13TeV-madgraph-pythia8
(empty)
# xrdfs ruhex-osgce.rutgers.edu ls -l /store/mc/RunIIFall17NanoAODv7/BprimeBprime_M-1900_TuneCP5_13TeV-madgraph-pythia8
(empty)
# xrdfs ruhex-osgce.rutgers.edu ls -R /store/mc/RunIIFall17NanoAODv7/BprimeBprime_M-1900_TuneCP5_13TeV-madgraph-pythia8
(empty)
# xrdfs ruhex-osgce.rutgers.edu ls /store/mc/RunIIFall17NanoAODv7/BprimeBprime_M-1900_TuneCP5_13TeV-madgraph-pythia8
/store/mc/RunIIFall17NanoAODv7/BprimeBprime_M-1900_TuneCP5_13TeV-madgraph-pythia8/NANOAODSIM
I do not think I can find a logic explaining why a directory appears empty if I use ls
with -R
and/or -l
but is not empty if I use plain ls
