@simonmichal It would be really useful to be able to request an hash to be computed during transfer
(in ALICE case we need md5) in parallel with the one negotiated with the server with checksummode = end2end (of course if the server can give md5 just return that).
This would alleviate the our need to pre-compute the md5 (and we can use XRootDs parallel C-based loop to get this)
Moreover I encountered some EOS servers that returned:
'status': <status: 1, code: 303, errno: 0, message: '[ERROR] Invalid response: Got invalid response while querying the checksum! (destination)', shellcode: 53, error: True, fatal: False, ok: False>

so, we cannot get from the server any checksum as a confirmation of operation validity, so at least we could have the on-the-fly computed hash
