Alright thanks! Your EL8 server does not have the issue because the openssl version is high enough :)

I have already implemented something yesterday and am currently testing it. I'll push the fix today and it will normally
land in a future XRootD version...

Many thanks for your very detailed explanation of the issue. It was very easy to reproduce thanks to all the details you provided. Again thanks!
