@adriansev : I think we do support it already, you can do the following:

$ xrdcp -f --cksum adler32 --cksum md5:source somefile root://hostname//tmp
[58.23kB/58.23kB][100%][==================================================][58.23kB/s]  
md5: e62876c6408ca781ae4e43d8c0025c13 /path/to/somefile 59629

Isn't it exactly what you need?
