Hi. I can trigger a similar error; although I was using a plain standalone XRootD dataserver configured for tls, not a redirector. I'll open a PR next week with a proposed fix (at the moment I think the patch in attachment seems to be ok), to solve what I've seen. I do think it's probably the same problem that you've seen. But it would be good to know for sure:

@jthiltges Would you be in a position to build a patched version (with the attached patch) and test it on your redirector? (The change goes into the library libXrdUtils.so.3.0.0, so that's what you'd need to swap in). If not, of course that's perfectly understandable.
