Brian, as far as I know, did not have a proposed solution. The only proposed solution is he one Michal and I devised which is to substitute the poller callback with a callback queue and a different thread service that queue. While the idea is rather good it introduces another set of problems in that anything in the queue might get invalidated at any time and implementing a validation scheme is not at all straightforward. The other approach is to remove entries that are invalidated but the side effects of that are unknown given the current client architecture.
