So, just to add myself to conversation, i have an EOS MGM on Alma9 which despite having crypto policies LEGACY:1024BITS:SHA1 (where 1024Bits set the minimum size of dh/dsa/rsa) a xrootd 5.5.5 client from Centos 7 still cannot connect with a message like 230522 18:11:41 198035 secgsi_ClientDoCert: could not instantiate session cipher using cipher public info from server
