@chwissing - Ok, scratch that - I figured out the problem running it via the debugger.

The server at root://t2-cms-xrootd01.desy.de is using 128-bit DH parameters and is running v5.3.4. Since that's basically equivalent to exchanging the keys in plain text, OpenSSL 3 outright refuses it (I don't think you can even manually configure the settings that low).

You'll need to upgrade to 5.5.0 or later for compatibility.
