Hi Bob,
Not all ATLAS GRID users will need SLAC accounts. The SLAC Tier-2 users are expected to need proper SLAC user account, because they have to develop the code for the jobs at a place there are ATLAS releases installed before they can submit the jobs to the GRID. The ATLAS online farm we are putting together will also become a global ATLAS facility for ATLAS trigger/DAQ people at CERN or elsewhere to login to and perform tests interactively. There is currently an attempt to use the UK Manchester Tier-2 for a subset of these sort of online tests, while the Tier-2 is configured purely for GRID
use. It has just turned into a completely frustrating nonsense. Apart from official productions, we are still working in the traditional way for now.
