That's different. I'm referring to what users will have to
configure normally. Ideally, I'd like to say that if you already have
connectivity to a MySQL server (via .my.cnf), you don't have to do
anything extra to use the LSST Stack with it. LSST would not *require*
that you have any LSST-specific configuration files at all.

I would like to avoid this if at all possible. This would be
useful *only* if we end up requiring more than one LSST-specific
configuration file.
